Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (a.k.a Las Palmas) is the capital (shared with Santa Cruz de Tenerife) of Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands. The town is
the most populous city in the community and the 9th largest in Spain.

The climate is Subtropical - season with the summer temperatures lasts throughout the year. There are warm dry summers and moderately warm winters. The average annual temperature is 20 °C.

Las Palmas is very popular tourist destination. The city has an airport (Gran Canaria Airport), a seaport (Puerto de Las Palmas) and several beaches main of which are Las Canteras, Las Alcaravaneras, la Laja and Confital.
