Municipality Algeciras is an administrative unit in Province Cadiz.
Algeciras is a municipality and a port city in province of Cadiz, Andalusian autonomous community, Spain. It is situated on the Río de la Miel, 20 km north-east of Tarifa.
Algeciras is the largest urban area on the Bay of Gibraltar and Spanish busiest port. Main city indistrial activity is related with the port. It connects Spain with main Morocco (Tangier) and Spanish (the Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla) ports. Algeciras also has a substantial fishing industry and exports a range of agricultural products from the surrounding area, including cereals, tobacco and farm animals.
