Municipality Jerez de la Frontera is an administrative unit in Province Cadiz.

Jerez de la Frontera is located in the south-western part of autonomous community of Andalucía, in the north-west of the province of Cadiz. It has a marvellous geographical situation, midway between the mountainside and the coast, and climate with more than 3,200 hours of sunshine with mild winters are and pleasant summers.

Jerez de la Frontera (prononced hereth,) is the Andalusian town from which the name Sherry is derived. Along with two other nearby towns, El Puerto de Santa Maria and Sanlucar de Barrameda, it is the only place in the world where sherry is produced.

The town is also world-famous for horses - the dancing white Carthusians are bred here. The Royal Andalusian Equestrian School has its home in the city and Jerez hosts a magnificent spring festival with horses as the focal point.
